Long-Awaited Canadian Aviation Booklet

I’m thrilled to announce that I have finally received my Canadian aviation booklet in the mail! No, seriously, I am really happy! It’s been almost a year since I started the conversion process.

During that time I got a Canadian medical, passed written exams, got my radio operator certificate, applied for an aviation booklet, and renewed the FAA Instrument rating. But all the hard work has paid off, and I am now a certified Canadian commercial pilot!

Having both a license and the ability to work in the same country is a huge relief, and I’m excited to start firing my CV off to potential employers. I’m also preparing for the IATRA exam, which will allow me to apply for co-pilot positions, and considering getting a flight instructor rating.

After three years of struggling to make progress in my aviation career, it feels amazing to finally see some real opportunities on the horizon. This is definitely cause for celebration!
