I’m just a little white rain cloud
Hovering under the honey tree
I’m only a little black rain cloud
Pay no attention to me…
Sometimes the weather just doesn’t want to cooperate. Today, one of these rain clouds demanded my attention.
Although the clouds look gorgeous, they are also scary. This one in particular may not seem dangerous, but in reality, it was huge and turbulent. I considered circumnavigating it, but that would have meant flying almost half the country, so I decided to turn back. At this point, I’m flying for sightseeing and to meet minimum flight time requirements for the commercial license, so it doesn’t really matter where I fly.
Today, I had the opportunity to overfly a stunning landscape. Flights over this area are often restricted, but today wasn’t one of those days, and I captured some beautiful photos.
The clouds were forming patterns that were breathtaking to see. They were mainly cumulus clouds due to high thermal activity, and while they’re typically the most beautiful clouds, they’re also the most dangerous.
The weather forecast predicted something huge, scary, and dangerous in the afternoon, coming from the west. Therefore, I decided to head back to the home base before it arrived.
In the sky, you can feel the power of nature much more acutely. It’s something incredibly powerful, real, and beautiful. At times, it makes you feel like a child facing primal, savage forces, yet they remain charming and wondrous.
