I’m in doubt: I feel that, in general, I am ready for the FAA CPL written test. I have gone through the official FAA materials, but I’d like to use a question bank for evaluation.
When it comes to EASA subjects, it is pretty easy as there are only two providers: bgsonline and aviationexam, both of which are really good.
After conducting some research, I found these services:
- Sheppard Air: It seems to be the leader in terms of material quality, but they don’t offer an online version and it’s a bit expensive.
- ASA: Users’ feedback is pretty good, slightly worse than Sheppard Air but still acceptable. They have an android version, online version, and offline version. It might be a better option.
- Dauntless: I came across some mentions, but couldn’t find much information about them. They don’t look alive.
- Gleim: It worked great for my IR, but I’m not sure about their CPL materials.
- Aviationexam: Their interface is great and works on any device (probably including teapots), and their EASA materials are astonishing. However, I’m not sure if they are suitable for FAA tests, as their database may not have as many FAA-specific questions.
Does anyone have any experience with these providers? Is it worth purchasing Sheppard Air? They seem to be state-of-the-art.
P.S. They certainly were state-of-the-art, but in the end, it didn’t really matter. I ended up using AviationExam, saving a couple of bucks, and it was more than sufficient.
