Mountain and Lake Adventures: A Flight to the Austrian Border

I have always wanted to see the mountains and lakes near the Austrian border, and they are truly incredible. The only challenge is that one needs to climb up to 6000 feet to get a good view. Luckily, the weather today was perfect for it.

I bet that glider pilots would have been envious of my flight today. There were very wide and strong thermal flows, making it ideal for gliders. Even in my Cessna, I was able to turn a little and gain +200 feet without any power change. I wonder if it’s possible to stay in that flow in a Cessna, but I didn’t check.

Another highlight of my flight today was seeing a small jet ahead of me in the pattern at České Budějovice. It was the first time I had seen from the air a jet taking off from a large international airport.

I saw incredible landscapes today that are difficult to describe with words, so I am attaching some photos. I apologize for the quality of the pictures; I hope to upgrade my camera someday.
