Today, I flew with another instructor who gave me a simple yet insightful tip that I had not thought of before: during landing, I should not only look straight ahead, but also slightly to the left. This helps me to better estimate my height above the ground and ultimately results in a better flare.

During my flight today, I focused on practicing landings, which involved taking off, completing the circuit, and then landing.
Additionally, I had my first navigation flight. It turned out that it can be challenging to differentiate between towns and villages from the air, and I often found myself looking for clues to help identify my location. The best ones are roads and rivers.
However, I am becoming much better at identifying my home airport from a distance of over 5 miles. It’s hard to miss a 2 km concrete runway, but when starting from zero, it can be a challenge to locate it. In my early flights, I struggled to find even such a large runway.

Overall, it was a great day of flying, with new insights gained from my instructor and progress made in both landings and navigation.
